Summary of Role
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Chief R&D Officer and is expected to operate with a high degree of independence and to exercise autonomous judgement in the performance of their duties.
The main responsibilities of this position include the development of new products according to design specifications and troubleshooting existing products to maintain the product quality. Due to the hands-on nature of the job, it is expected that the majority of work will be on-site at SDI Headquarters in Bayswater.

Specific Responsibilites
Reporting to the Chief R&D Officer, your key responsibilities will be:
Formulate products in accordance with company quality and performance specifications
Conduct general product and performance testing to ensure formulation robustness and efficacy claims compliance
Report writing for justifications and supporting evidence for new product development projects
Research based project management to ensure projects meet their required time lines
Communicate the status of new product development to managers and colleagues
Develop and maintain detailed experimental records
Provide technical information to project managers, business managers, QA, QC, Marketing, Production and Sales teams, as required
Write and conduct process validation protocols and reports when required.
Conduct risk assessment analysis for product impacted changes
Initiate change controls and deviations when required
To succeed in this exciting role, you will possess:
Degree qualification(s) in a role-specific area of science and/or engineering. (E.g. Chemistry, Physics, Materials / Chemical / Biomedical Engineering, etc.)
The ability to work both independently and in teams
A passion for optimisation and finding practical solutions to technical challenges
Experience with experimental batch formulation/preparation and physical/mechanical testing would be advantageous
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, together with demonstrated problem solving and time management skills
Demonstrated project management skills
Proven experience working within a GMP / GLP quality environment would be advantageous
Positive, proactive, professional attitude
Ability to build strong cross functional working relationships
A desire to grow with this company
