Full job description

James Mollett and Partners is seeking a reliable and motivated grain, oilseed, pulse and pasture farm worker to join our broadacre cropping enterprise in Jerdacuttup, Western Australia. This is a full time, permanent position suited to someone with practical experience in broadacre cropping, operating modern agricultural machinery and precision farming technology. The successful applicant will support all stages of crop production, including paddock preparation, seeding, spraying and harvesting, together with machinery operation, routine servicing and general farm maintenance. Some sheep husbandry livestock duties may be required from time to time.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Inspect and report on the condition of wheat, barley and canola crops

Prepare paddocks for seeding, including soil preparation, cultivation and fertiliser application

Assist with sowing, crop establishment, spraying, crop monitoring and harvesting activities

Prepare, handle and apply herbicides, pesticides and fertilisers in accordance with work place procedures and safety requirements

Operate and maintain agricultural machinery including tractors, seeders, self propelled sprayers, harvesters and other broadacre farming equipment. Operate GPS-guided, autosteer and other precision technology systems

Assist with grain handling, loading, transport and storage during harvest

Perform routine servicing and cleaning of farm machinery and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation

Maintain sheds, fences, water systems and other farm infrastructure

Assist with sheep husbandry and general livestock duties as required

Follow workplace health and safety procedures and biosecurity requirements

Perform other general farm duties as required

Requirements

At least one year practical experience in broadacre cropping, grain production or similar

Applicant must have experience operating GPS-guided, autosteer and other precision farming equipment.

Current Australian Driver's Licence is mandatory, truck licence is beneficial

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, good physical fitness and willing to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

You must have full work rights to work in Australia. No sponsorship

Pay: $70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
