TSS is recruiting an HR Advisor / HR Generalist for an established organisation in the resources sector.

This is an opportunity for an HR professional looking to develop their experience across a broad range of human resources functions, including ER and IR, general HR operations, performance management and employment legislation.

We're open to HR Officers, HR Advisors and developing HR Generalists who have a solid foundation in Australian employment legislation and are looking to broaden their experience across the HR function.

About the Company

Our client is an established organisation within the resources sector, offering the opportunity to work within a professional environment supporting a range of business and operational requirements.

The role will be based in Perth, working closely with management and business stakeholders to support day-to-day HR activities and contribute to the wider people function.

The Role

This is a broad HR generalist position covering employee relations, general HR, performance management and employee lifecycle processes.

You'll work closely with managers and employees, providing practical HR advice, supporting workplace matters and ensuring HR processes align with relevant employment legislation and company policies.

The role will suit someone who enjoys variety, is comfortable dealing with people at different levels and is keen to continue developing their technical HR knowledge. There will also be opportunities to gain exposure to remuneration and benefits, learning and development, and broader HR initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing advice and support across employee relations, performance management, grievances and workplace matters

• Supporting managers with employee issues, investigations and the application of HR policies and procedures

• Interpreting and applying the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards (NES) and relevant employment legislation

• Managing general HR activities across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employment documentation and employee records

• Supporting remuneration and benefits activities, payroll-related queries and other employment matters as required

• Assisting with learning and development, employee engagement and organisational development initiatives

• Supporting workers' compensation and return-to-work processes where required

• Contributing to HR projects, process improvements and the consistent application of HR policies and procedures

• Building effective relationships with employees, managers and key stakeholders across the business

About You

We're looking for someone who is practical, approachable and confident communicating with people at different levels of an organisation. You'll have a solid understanding of Australian employment legislation and be comfortable supporting day-to-day HR matters while continuing to develop your broader HR capabilities.

You'll ideally bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or a related discipline

• Experience in an HR Officer, HR Advisor, HR Generalist or similar role

• Sound knowledge of the Fair Work Act, NES and Australian employment legislation

• Experience supporting employee relations, performance management and general HR activities

• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills

• Good judgement, problem-solving ability and attention to detail

• The ability to manage competing priorities and handle confidential employee matters appropriately

• A willingness to learn, take initiative and contribute across different areas of HR

Experience within mining, resources or another operational environment would be advantageous, although candidates from broader industries with relevant generalist HR experience will also be considered.
