Assistant Buyer – Sleep
Pyrmont, Sydney | Hybrid Working
We're looking for an organised and commercially minded Assistant Buyer to join our Sheridan team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the buying function across one of Australia's most iconic homewares brands, helping deliver aspirational product ranges while using insights, analysis and market trends to drive commercial outcomes.

What you'll be doing
  • Support the Senior Merchandise Manager with the development and execution of category and range plans across the Sleep category.
  • Maintain product information, range plans and buying systems to ensure data is accurate and up to date throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Analyse sales performance, competitor activity and market trends to identify opportunities and provide recommendations.
  • Coordinate key business calendars, reporting and cross-functional milestones to keep projects on track.
  • Partner with Design, Supply Chain, Marketing and International teams to support product launches and seasonal range delivery.
  • Produce weekly sales reporting, buy decks and post-season reviews to support informed commercial decision making.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance reporting, systems and ways of working.
About you
  • Previous experience in an Assistant Buyer, Buying Coordinator or similar merchandise support role.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities and confidence working with data and reporting.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • A collaborative team player with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Retail or homewares experience is highly regarded, along with an interest in product, textiles or design.
  • Experience with PLM, BOB or similar merchandise systems will be advantageous but is not essential.
