About Purple House

Our mission is to improve the lives of people with renal failure, reunite families and reduce the impact of kidney disease in our communities. We are run by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal people and work to provide culturally appropriate health, aged care and general support services in regional and remote communities, helping people to get home to country and family.

About the Role

The role of the Administration Assistant is to provide administration and operational assistance to support to the Purple House Perth team. The Administration Assistant is responsible for assisting with the administrative and operational tasks, contributing to the efficient day-to-day functioning of Purple House operations in Perth.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support, including data entry and document management.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service by welcoming clients, responding to enquiries, and fostering a culturally safe and supportive environment.
  • Assist in coordinating appointments, meetings, and client-related activities, including preparing documentation and hospitality arrangements.
  • Manage office operations, including mail, office supplies and general housekeeping.
  • Support procurement and inventory processes for WA sites, including sourcing, ordering, packing and dispatching stores and equipment.
  • Assist with fleet and asset management, including vehicle inspections, servicing and record keeping.
  • Coordinate facilities maintenance activities, including pest inspections, fire equipment servicing, and other scheduled maintenance.
  • Support site planning, project implementation, and the preparation and maintenance of organisational registers and documentation.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders and provide administrative support for meetings and organisational activities.
  • Promote and contribute to a safe workplace by reporting hazards, supporting WHS initiatives, and complying with organisational policies and legislative requirements.
  • Perform other administrative and operational duties as required to support the effective functioning of the Perth office.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential

  • Certificate III in Business Administration or higher, or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications and databases
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Current valid Australian driver’s licence

Highly Desirable

  • Experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation
