About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Health Specialist to join our Group Operational Risk, Health & Safety team. Reporting to the Health Manager, this role plays a key part in driving and continually improving Fortescue's occupational health programs across our Australian operations.
Working Monday to Friday from our Perth CBD office, with periodic travel to our Pilbara operations, you'll provide specialist expertise across Clinical Governance, Poisons Permit/ Doctor on Call, Health Surveillance, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), Fatigue Management and International Travel Health. This is an opportunity to influence enterprise-wide health programs that directly contribute to the wellbeing of our workforce.
Key Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Lead Fortescue's Clinical Governance program across Western Australia, including governance meetings, performance oversight and continuous improvement.
- Drive Health Surveillance programs, working closely with operational sites and external providers to ensure compliance, reporting and quality outcomes.
- Develop, maintain and improve occupational health systems, including the Occupational Health module.
- Support Fatigue Management initiatives, including FAID assessments, roster reviews and industry collaboration.
- Provide assurance and oversight of International Travel Medical processes and support the ongoing maturity of travel health systems.
- Support the continual improvement of Fortescue's Alcohol and Other Drugs framework, ensuring alignment with legislation and industry best practice.
- Build strong relationships with operational leaders, health providers and key internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality health outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
You will bring:
- A qualification as an Allied Health Professional (such as Nursing, Paramedicine, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology or similar).
- Experience within mining, construction, energy or another high-risk industry.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health risks and health management systems.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and presentation skills.
- Experience preparing reports, analysing data and presenting insights.
- Well-developed documentation and procedure writing skills.
