Full job description
The Opportunity
Our Child Physical Activity, Health and Development team is dedicated to improving children's physical activity, health and development. Through high-quality research, the team seeks to identify the environments, policies and programs that best support active lifestyles and promote lifelong health and wellbeing.
The Research Officer will provide administrative and research support across a range of projects, including intervention-based studies and research exploring the environmental influences on child health and development. Working closely with the research team, you will contribute to project delivery and undertake project-specific activities as required to support successful research outcomes.
Your duties include:
- Develop and implement data management plans.
- Oversee data collection including online survey administration, conduct focus groups and interviews.
- Conduct analysis of quantitative and qualitative data.
Based at Perth Children’s Hospital, this full-time position is offered on a two-year fixed-term contract.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Postgraduate degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Sport Science, Social Sciences, Psychology, or related field.
- Experience in similar research administration position and seeing research projects through from conception to translation.
- Demonstrated ability in project planning, recruitment, coordination and study material development.
- High level statistical and analytic skills.
- Experience in research translation and working closely with stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Supervision of research assistants and volunteers.
- Experience in disseminating and translating research findings and working with stakeholders.
