Male Forensic & Complex Behaviour Support Worker

Milestone Support Services specialises in supporting individuals with:

  • Psychosocial disabilities
  • Forensic and justice-related backgrounds
  • Complex behaviours
  • Mental health challenges
  • Transitional accommodation needs
  • Youth and adult participants requiring high-level behavioural support

Our team works closely with participants transitioning from:

  • Corrections and custodial settings
  • Hospital and mental health units
  • Homelessness and unstable environments
  • Youth justice and community justice pathways

We are building a strong team of resilient, professional male support workers capable of working with high-risk and high-needs participants in a trauma-informed and person-centred manner.

About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced Male Support Workers with backgrounds in:

  • Security
  • Corrections
  • Youth justice
  • Mental health
  • Community services
  • Hospital security
  • Behaviour support
  • Crisis response environments

This role is ideal for individuals who are confident managing:

  • Complex behaviours
  • Aggression and escalation
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Community risk situations
  • Participants with forensic histories
  • High-pressure environments

You will support participants both in accommodation settings and out in the community while maintaining professional boundaries, safety awareness, and calm communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting participants with forensic and complex behavioural backgrounds
  • Managing challenging situations using de-escalation techniques
  • Assisting with daily living and community participation
  • Supporting emotional regulation and behavioural goals
  • Transporting participants to appointments and activities
  • Completing professional incident reports and case notes
  • Working collaboratively with allied health teams and coordinators
  • Maintaining safety for participants, staff, and the community

Highly Regarded Experience

We strongly encourage applicants with experience in:

  • Security industry
  • Corrections or custodial settings
  • Youth justice
  • Mental health wards
  • Hospital security
  • Drug & alcohol services
  • Crisis intervention
  • Behavioural support environments

Candidates with strong situational awareness, conflict resolution skills, and professional communication are highly valued.

Essential Requirements

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • National Police Check
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
  • Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
  • Strong written communication and incident reporting skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Availability for weekends, active nights, and emergency shifts where required

What We Offer

  • Consistent ongoing shifts
  • Supportive leadership and management
  • Opportunities for growth into senior roles
  • Training in forensic support and complex behaviours
  • A professional and structured environment
  • Rewarding work making real impact in people’s lives

Important

This role is NOT security work. While security and justice-related experience is highly regarded, all support must be delivered using a trauma-informed, person-centred, and recovery-focused approach aligned with NDIS standards.

We are looking for workers who are:

  • Calm under pressure
  • Professional and emotionally intelligent
  • Strong communicators
  • Reliable and accountable
  • Able to build rapport while maintaining boundaries

Pay: $38.10 – $51.11 per hour
