Full job description
- Transition management / client onboarding - play an active role in the on-boarding of new clients and ensuring the effective and timely implementation of client change requests
- Responsible for supervising, tracking and delivering day to day fund operation services in accordance with our clients’ service level agreements
- Coordinate and where appropriate lead internal projects such as system implementations and upgrades
- Proactively identify activities and tasks that can be transitioned to the global hub in the pursuit of operational efficiency
- Oversee investment operations including middle office, accounting and performance & attribution services in accordance with our clients’ service level agreements
- Manage 3rd party vendor services and agreements to support operational activities of fund operations
- Proactive management of resource and workforce planning for the team
- Allocate and provide direction to the team on the day-to-day management activities and requirements to ensure consistency and accuracy
- Create and implement business strategy across fund operations
- Ensure delivery of key business activities to internal and external clients
- Manage operational budget and profitability
- Security pricing, corporate action management, trade settlement, cash and position reconciliation
- Unit prices for managed investment funds, private equity funds and listed investment companies
- Distributable income calculations for managed investment funds
- General and special purpose accounts for retail and wholesale managed investment funds and listed investment companies.
- Liaison with clients, external tax and audit parties as well as various internal stakeholders.
- Define and implement best practice methodologies to ensure clients are receiving consistent and quality service
- Build and maintain a high performing team through high performance leadership, role modelling the Link values and employee engagement practices
- Actively develop capability across operations team, reduce key person dependences
- Implement development plans for team members to prepare them to progress to high performing analysts, accountants and Managers
- Develop and implement training on specific investments and fund accounting topics and where appropriate support professional training through on the job learning or professional courses
- Contribute to discussions and decision making around annual budgeting, overall team cost and expenditure, FTE headcount, leave liability and remuneration
- Review and suggest improvements to procedures with efficiency/risk reduction in mind, using your previous experience. Proactive risk management and identification of impacts to teams when initiatives commence
- Identify, implement, and review appropriate quality controls in order to meet client standards
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements and hold the appropriate regulatory approvals
- Proactive identify, understand, and communicate key business risks as they apply to MUFG Corporate Markets
- Where appropriate follow transition governance framework to ensure smooth transition of activities to our global hub support team
- The successful candidate will have 15-20 years’ previous experience within a fund accounting environment preferably with an administrator, custodian or fund manager.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in staff management including performance management, recruitment, induction, setting KPIs, assigning tasks.
- All round grasp of accounting standards and taxation affecting the managed funds industry
- Strong leadership skills and management skills
- Strong client services skills
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to work as a part of a team
- Problem solving, implementing practical solutions
- Ability to research and analyse legislative requirements and changes, update policy documents, checklists, templates, and procedures.
- Able to implement and complete project work both within teams and autonomously
- Able to co-ordinate conflicting deadlines
- Good communication skills both written and verbal
- CA/CPA qualified.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly
