Full job description

Online Fitness Support Coach (Part Time, Remote, Australia Based)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are hiring a part time Online Fitness Support Coach to support client delivery inside an established online coaching business working exclusively with female clients.

This is an internal support role. All clients remain under the head coach and the business at all times. You will handle the day to day communication, engagement and accountability of existing clients inside our coaching app, operating behind the scenes as a direct extension of the head coach.

It suits someone who likes structured systems, clear expectations and delivering high quality client support, without needing personal branding or client ownership.

HOURS AND LOCATION

You must be based in Australia and able to work Australian Eastern time. Our clients are Australian/ New Zealand women and they need same day responses inside their own working day. Applications from outside this time zone will not progress.

The first two weeks are paid training. 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday, shadowing the head coach. You learn the systems, the standards and the voice before you handle a client conversation on your own.

From week three, 20 hours per week. 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday.

Strong growth opportunity. This starts as a part time role and it is built to grow. As you prove yourself, hours, responsibility and pay all increase together. We would rather hire someone who wants to build something here than someone looking for a permanent few hours on the side, so tell us in your application where you would like this role to go.

You choose your daily window and then keep it. Pick a consistent block between 7am and 7pm AEST and work it every weekday. We are flexible about which block you choose. We are not flexible about it changing week to week, because clients notice when replies land at random times.

Fully remote.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

- Communicating with clients on behalf of the head coach, using our established tone and standards

- Responding to all client messages within 24 hours, Monday to Friday

- Commenting on completed workouts with specific, meaningful feedback

- Reviewing nutrition logs and prompting awareness or simple problem solving

- Sending proactive check in messages

- Monitoring engagement and identifying early signs of a client dropping off

- Updating the Weekly Client Tracker with progress notes and concerns

You are responsible for execution and follow through. This is not a sales or client acquisition role.

HOW WE COACH

We coach women 30 to 70 who have usually been dieting too hard for too long, going through hormonal changes etc. Our approach is education first. Every recommendation comes with the reason behind it, explained in plain language, so the client builds her own understanding instead of depending on us. We are not about validating bad habits.

That means:

- We explain the physiology, we do not just hand out instructions

- We are direct and honest, including when the answer is not what the client hoped for. We say it with care, never with shame

- We treat progressive strength training as the foundation

- We validate the frustration, then reframe it with actual science

- We do not coach with encouragement alone. A reply that is warm but says nothing is a failed reply. Clients are intelligent adults and we write to them that way, in flowing sentences rather than bullet points, without heavy emoji or filler affirmations

If you read that and thought "that is exactly how I already coach", apply. If you read it and thought "that seems a bit blunt", this is not the role for you, and that is genuinely fine.

REQUIREMENTS

- Based in Australia and able to work Australian Eastern time

- Relevant fitness qualification (Cert III or IV, Diploma, or equivalent)

- Confident with macro tracking and adjusting meal plans

- Able to work as a contractor with an ABN

- Familiarity with Trainerize or a similar coaching platform is preferred, not essential

THIS ROLE SUITS YOU IF YOU

- Have experience in online coaching or client support, or 3 or more years as a personal trainer

- Understand nutrition tracking and training compliance

- Are comfortable and experienced supporting female clients

- Can confidently write in someone else's voice rather than your own

- Are organised, consistent and proactive

- Like working inside systems and clear boundaries

- Are looking to grow into a bigger role over time rather than keep this as a small permanent side job

THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF YOU

- Struggle with consistency and follow through

- Are looking for a sales position

- Want to build your own brand or coaching business. This is a behind the scenes delivery role

- Need unpredictable hours or cannot commit to a consistent daily window

- Only want a small permanent side role and would not take on more hours as the role grows

- Prefer to work outside set systems and do things your own way

- Coach mainly through encouragement and positivity rather than explanation, honesty and clear direction

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

- Consistent 24 hour response times, Monday to Friday

- High client engagement and compliance

- Early identification of clients starting to drop off

- Client messaging that is indistinguishable from the head coach's own

GROWTH

This role is built to grow. Strong performers take on more hours, more clients and more responsibility, moving toward a senior internal coaching role with compensation increasing alongside it. Progression is based on performance and client load, not time served. We will be upfront with you about where you stand rather than leaving you guessing.

HOW TO APPLY

Apply through Indeed and include the following. Applications that skip the written task will not be reviewed.

1. A brief overview of your coaching or support experience.

2. Why an internal support coach role appeals to you.

3. Your availability, including the specific daily window you would work, your state, and where you would like this role to go over the next year or two.

4. Any experience with online coaching platforms.

THE WRITTEN TASK

A client messages you: "I've been perfect all week, tracked everything, trained 4 times, and the scale has gone UP 700g. I'm so over this."

You can see in the app that she has logged her meals on 3 days out of 7, and her steps have been well under target all week.

Write the reply you would send her. Not a summary of what you would say, the actual message as you would send it.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for the next step.

Job Types: Part time, Subcontract

Pay: $2,600.00 AUD per month

Expected hours: 20 per week after the first two training weeks, with scope to increase

Pay: $1,300.00 – $2,600.00 per month
