Join us in shaping healthier futures. Together we can do more.

The position of Librarian Grade 1, Shellharbour Hospital, is a facility-based role providing library information services to staff and stakeholders across the district. As such, the position may be required to travel to other sites across the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). Under the leadership of the ISLHD Library Services Manager, this position is responsible for delivering a range of library services—including research, information gathering, and training—and overseeing operations at a hospital library. The position identifies and recommends relevant materials, ensures library services comply with service level agreements, and assists with library projects as directed.

Additionally, this role helps ensure the library operates as a continuous quality improvement unit. Key areas of focus include managing digital ecosystems, knowledge of artificial intelligence tools, training clinical staff on algorithmic and data literacy, maintaining current process and system documentation, and fostering a customer-focused, quality-driven culture.

This position supports the Education and Training Department by communicating daily via email, face-to-face, or telephone regarding booking requests for conference and training rooms in the education and training area. Responsibilities also include setting up rooms as required and providing technical assistance for room facilities and bookings.
