Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

Join our team at Lithgow Health Service and play a key role in delivering exceptional support across all departments and wards, 24 hours a day. This position provides a vital telephony service, answering calls for hospital services and managing emergency responses and paging systems. You will also maintain live patient data in iPMs and CERNER First, assist with client reception, handle mail, safeguard patient valuables, and manage medical records and filing. Additional duties include income receipting and participation in team meetings, quality activities, and mandatory training.

What you will bring to the role


  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team in a busy mutli-skilled environment
  • Excellent communication (both written and oral) and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in a demanding front-line reception position, assisting the public, staff and client, in a polite, clear, well-spoken and calm manner in all circumstances.
  • Ability to work a rotating roster 24/7
