Barista / All-Rounder (Part-Time / Casual)

About Us
JFT Japan Foods Trading Pty. Ltd. is one of the oldest and largest Japanese food importers and distributors in Victoria, based in Rowville. As part of our continued growth, we are launching a new café operation and are seeking a versatile and motivated Barista / All-Rounder to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm
  • Assist with the setup of the coffee and beverage section, including equipment installation, stock organisation, and workflow preparation
  • Prepare high-quality coffee and beverages with consistency and attention to detail
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming environment
  • Train and support new staff in coffee preparation, service standards, and daily operations
  • Work collaboratively with the team during the initial business launch phase
  • Assist with general duties including food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a well-organised workspace

Requirements

  • Intermediate conversational English required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in hospitality, with strong barista skills and customer service experience
  • Australian RSA
  • Previous experience in staff training or mentoring is highly regarded
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to a new business setup and growth
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:00pm
  • Ability to commit to long-term employment (minimum 1 year preferred)
  • Full working rights in Australia (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or visa with unrestricted work rights)
  • Japanese language skills are an advantage but not essential
  • Knowledge of Japanese grocery products is a plus
