Full job description

As an Event Staff Member, you will be responsible for assisting with the setup, operation and pack down of CheerCon events. Working as part of a team, you'll help ensure events run smoothly by providing excellent customer service, maintaining event operations and supporting athletes, coaches, spectators and officials throughout the competition.

No two events are the same, so flexibility, teamwork and a positive attitude are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Event Operations

  • Assist with venue bump in and bump out.
  • Set up competition areas, signage, furniture, merchandise and equipment.
  • Maintain presentation and cleanliness of allocated areas throughout the event.
  • Assist with venue pack down at the conclusion of the event.

Customer Service

  • Welcome athletes, coaches and spectators.
  • Provide accurate event information and directions.
  • Assist with ticketing and athlete check in.
  • Respond professionally to questions and resolve minor issues where possible.
  • Escalate concerns to the Event Manager when required.

Competition Support

Depending on your allocated role, duties may include:

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all CheerCon policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe environment for all attendees.
  • Report hazards, incidents or injuries immediately.
  • Follow emergency procedures when required.

Skills & Experience

Successful applicants will demonstrate:

Previous event, retail, hospitality or customer service experience is desirable but not essential.

Physical Requirements

This role may involve:

  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Walking throughout large venues.
  • Lifting and carrying equipment (within safe manual handling limits).
  • Early mornings, late evenings and weekend work.

Essential Requirements

  • Current ABN.
  • Ability to work as an Independent Contractor.
  • Valid Working With Children Check (where required).
  • Ability to travel to event locations.
  • Reliable transport.
  • Mobile phone for event communications.

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
