Full job description

Microcel invites you to submit your application as an experienced IT Support Technician to join our team of Sub-Contractors and provide technical support to staff and students in Victorian Government Primary & Secondary schools. The ideal candidate will be hired as a sub-contractor and have a strong understanding of Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems, as well as experience with network administration and server support.

Position Details

  • Location: Carlton North Primary School (Carlton North, Melbourne, Victoria)
  • Weekly Hours: 6.20 hours
  • Hire Type: Sub-Contractor

The hourly rate offered for this Sub-Contractor position is up to $50.00 (ex GST) dependant on experience.

The successful candidate will require high level, advanced technical skills in:

  • Windows Server Technologies
  • Service and management of Windows and Apple devices
  • Network Administration

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support the school's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and desktop computers
  • Provide technical support to staff and students with a variety of IT issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems
  • Install and configure new hardware and software
  • Maintain the school's IT documentation

The following attributes will be highly regarded:

  • Relevant experience in an educational setting, along with knowledge of wireless deployment and Department initiatives.
  • Previous experience with planning, deployment and management of 1 to 1 user/devices in a high quality school environment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to plan and run ICT professional development sessions and work collaboratively with the Schools’ ICT Management, teaching and learning teams.
  • Innovate and expand the school’s ICT software, hardware, device management and service solutions for the continuous improvement to ensure high quality services to students and staff.
  • Management of the ICT infrastructure and equipment at school that develops student learning opportunities and ensures compliance with DET policies and procedures.
