IT Support / Helpdesk Officer (Animation Studio) Western Sydney | On-site | August Start
We're working with a busy animation studio in Western Sydney as they prepare for an exciting period of growth and a major studio relocation. As a result, we're looking to appoint two IT Support / Helpdesk Officers to join the team:
  • One month contract to support the studio relocation and infrastructure rollout, with a possibility of extension.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an entry/mid level career IT professional looking to gain hands-on experience in a creative production environment.
About the Role Working closely with the studio's IT team, you'll provide frontline technical support to artists, production staff and studio personnel while assisting with the relocation and setup of the new studio environment.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll be involved in everything from resolving helpdesk requests through to deploying workstations and supporting software installations used across a professional animation pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line IT and helpdesk support to studio staff.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and user account issues.
  • Install, configure and deploy desktop workstations, monitors and peripherals.
  • Assist with software installations, updates and licensing.
  • Support operating system updates and general workstation maintenance.
  • Assist with hardware installations, workstation deployment and peripheral setup as part of the studio relocation.
  • Help coordinate the physical relocation and setup of IT equipment during the studio move.
  • Maintain accurate asset registers and IT documentation.
  • Escalate more complex technical issues where required.
  • Deliver friendly, responsive support while maintaining excellent customer service.
About You We're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems and is keen to build a career supporting creative technology.
You'll ideally bring:
  • A qualification (completed or nearing completion) in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and PC hardware.
  • Confidence troubleshooting common software and hardware issues.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
The following experience would be highly regarded, but isn't essential:
  • Microsoft 365 and Active Directory administration.
  • Basic networking and infrastructure support.
  • Experience working in an animation, VFX or games production environment.
  • Knowledge of animation production pipeline software such as Autodesk Maya, Unreal Engine, Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar creative applications.
Additional Requirements
  • This is an on-site position based in Western Sydney.
  • Applicants must have their own reliable transport, as public transport access is limited and the role will involve supporting the studio relocation.
  • Availability to commence during immediately.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available
Why Apply? This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical IT experience within Australia's animation industry while working alongside talented artists, technical directors and production teams. Whether you're looking for a short-term project to build your experience or a longer-term role within a creative studio, you'll gain valuable exposure to the technology that powers professional animation production.

This role would particularly suit a junior or mid level IT professional looking to combine strong technical skills with a passion for animation, games or creative technology in a collaborative studio environment.
If you're technically minded, enjoy helping people, and are excited by the idea of working behind the scenes of an animation studio, we'd love to hear from you.
