Position: – Telecommunications & Network Technician – Onsite IT & NBN Support

Pay out: $50 - $70 per hour + Super + Travel Reimbursements.

Locations Available: MELBOURNE

V4 IT Services is a fast-growing Australian technology support company providing onsite and remote IT services to residential and business customers across Australia. We specialise in computer repairs, networking, Wi-Fi solutions, motherboard repairs, data recovery, and advanced technical support.

We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Telecommunications & Network Technician to join our Melbourne team.

About the Role

This is a field-based role focused heavily on NBN-related cabling, data point relocation, network installations, and onsite technical support for residential and small business customers.

A large part of this role involves relocating NBN wall outlets/data points, running Ethernet cabling, improving home and office networking setups, and troubleshooting internet connectivity issues.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on cabling experience, excellent fault-finding skills, and the ability to work independently onsite.

Key Responsibilities

• Relocate NBN wall ports/data outlets to different rooms
• Run and terminate Ethernet/data cabling
• Install and test CAT5e/CAT6 cabling
• Diagnose internet speed and connectivity issues
• Troubleshoot Wi-Fi dropouts and networking problems
• Configure routers, modems, mesh Wi-Fi systems, switches, and networking equipment
• Install and replace NBN-related hardware including NTDs and modems
• Repair damaged phone/data lines
• Perform structured cabling work for homes and small businesses
• Test line quality and signal performance
• Liaise with ISPs and NBN providers when required
• Maintain high-quality workmanship and customer service standards

Requirements
Essential:

• Strong structured cabling experience
• Experience relocating NBN/data wall ports
• Experience with CAT5e/CAT6 installations and terminations
• Understanding of FTTP, FTTN, FTTC, and HFC technologies
• Experience troubleshooting networking and Wi-Fi issues
• ACMA Open Cabling Registration
• Current Australian driver’s licence
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work independently onsite

Preferred

• Fibre endorsement
• Experience with small business networking
• Experience in telecommunications or MSP environments
• Patch panel and rack installation experience
• Working at Heights certification
