About us
At the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), we are dedicated to carrying out meaningful work that drives improvements and elevates student achievement across NSW, now and into the future.
We accomplish this by supporting all school sectors with high-quality syllabuses, assessment (including managing the HSC and NAPLAN), teaching standards (e.g., accrediting teachers) and school environments (including setting and monitoring school standards).
NESA is a unique organisation in NSW (of around 740FTE staff) with significant state-wide impact, visit our website to learn more about the important work we do.
About the role
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Web Support Officer to support the publication, maintenance and quality assurance of content across NESA's digital channels.
Working closely with Content Designers and internal stakeholders, you will ensure website content is accurate, accessible, user-friendly and delivered in line with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and best-practice digital standards. This is an excellent opportunity to build on your digital publishing expertise while contributing to an organisation that supports education outcomes across NSW.
You will join a collaborative and supportive team environment where you can further develop your technical skills, work with contemporary content management systems and help drive continuous improvements to NESA's online customer experience.
On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:
- Publishing and maintaining website content in text, audio-visual and interactive formats using Drupal CMS.
- Applying accessibility, search optimisation and quality assurance standards to digital content.
- Developing and maintaining templates, workflows, information architecture and taxonomies within Drupal and related systems.
- Supporting Content Designers to deliver accurate and timely online content.
- Providing technical support, guidance and documentation to help users effectively utilise Drupal CMS.
- Conducting testing across browsers, devices and platforms to ensure accessibility, functionality and compliance.
- Identifying, logging and monitoring technical issues and coordinating with stakeholders to support resolution and system improvements.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Demonstrated experience publishing and quality assuring digital content within a content management system environment.
- Proven experience using Drupal Content Management System to manage and maintain web content.
- Experience applying accessibility standards, including WCAG requirements, and supporting positive user experiences across digital channels.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Well-developed communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and provide technical guidance to users with varying levels of digital capability.
- Experience identifying and resolving content publishing or technical issues while maintaining quality and accuracy standards.
- Working knowledge of HTML is a plus.
Note: A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance for paid employment is required before commencing in this role. It is not required at the application stage. The cost of the WWCC clearance is the responsibility of the successful applicant.
We invite you to
At NESA you will benefit from:
- An organisation where your contribution has a big impact.
- An enviable CBD location (all modes of transport nearby, and excellent coffee and eateries) with refurbished offices.
- Flexible working arrangements and generous leave entitlements.
- Access to discounted health and fitness memberships via Fitness Passport, an employee assistance program and annual flu vaccinations.
- Salary packaging options.
- Working in a purpose driven and ethical organisation with committed colleagues.

- Give an example of how you managed competing priorities or tight deadlines when publishing or maintaining digital content. How did you decide what to prioritise and ensure work was delivered on time and to quality standards?
