About the Role

Modern grooming meets cutting-edge technology. BARBER INDUSTRIES QVB SYDNEY is a premier, rapidly growing barbering brand located in the heart of Sydney’s iconic QVB. We believe that a seamless digital experience is just as important as a sharp haircut.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced ICT Support Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. In this vital role, you will be the backbone of our digital operations, managing, maintaining, and optimizing our day-to-day technology infrastructure. As our go-to technical expert, you will ensure our hardware, booking systems, networks, and digital platforms run smoothly, securely, and efficiently to support our bustling flagship location and broader business operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • System Administration: Install, configure, update, and maintain operating systems, booking/POS application software, and tailored programs to meet business and staff requirements.
  • Technical Support: Act as the primary point of contact to rapidly diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and network issues for onsite staff and management.
  • Network & Security: Implement, monitor, and support robust computer networks to ensure safe, secure, and reliable data flow (including secure guest Wi-Fi and internal payment networks).
  • Hardware Maintenance: Troubleshoot, repair, and replace peripheral devices, including point-of-sale (POS) terminals, printers, modems, and digital displays.
  • Infrastructure Assessment: Continually evaluate company software and hardware performance to recommend and deploy effective, scalable technical solutions.
  • Digital & Social Media Management: Assist in the ongoing maintenance, basic updates, and security of the company's social media platforms and digital footprint.

Skills and Experience

  • Qualifications: A relevant tertiary qualification (Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree) in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in an ICT support or systems administration role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving capabilities across diverse hardware, software, and network environments.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a proven ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical creative staff (barbers and front-of-house team).
  • Autonomy: A proactive mindset with the ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks in a fast-paced retail environment, and require minimal supervision.

Why Join Us?

  • Prime Location: Work in one of Sydney’s most beautiful historic landmarks (QVB) with easy access to all public transport.
  • Competitive Compensation: A highly attractive salary package ranging from $75,000 to $85,000.
  • Talent Welcome: welcome applications requiring visa sponsorship for the right eligible candidate.
