The Key Duties and Responsibilities of this role are:
Operate printing press to produce work of a high quality to job specifications.
Sign off on pass sheet label before running.
Ensure correct set up for VE Vision inspection system.
Make new printing plate if required e.g. if damaged.
Strive to achieve better efficiency e.g. running speeds, set-up times.
Ensure work is being printed to approved colour tolerances, when unavailable produce new ones to the approval of the Production Supervisor.
Maintain the correct recording of quality and production date either written or computer entry.
Motivate personnel under his control e.g. Offsider and / or apprentices.
Reduce spoilage by using waste sheets or any other method.
Ensure that correct materials are being used e.g. tinplate, inks, etc.
Advise the Production Supervisor of maintenance required.

Promote good housekeeping around machine and other areas in his control.
•
Be available to work overtime, especially in unforeseen circumstances.
•
Place non-conforming material in holdout area and notify Pre-Press and the Production Manager or HSEQ Lead.
•
Participate in TQA,TQM and LEAN programs.
•
Participate in safety programs.
•
Provides on the job training to all personnel as required to meet quality and efficiency standards.
•
Arrange colour tolerances, submit to the Production Supervisor or Production Manager for customer approval.
•
Be competent in using a spectrophotometer or Densitometer.
•
Complete machine operator maintenance and conduct roller changes when required.
