Where you come in:
Save the Children is looking for a passionate and community-focused facilitator to support child protection and family wellbeing initiatives at the community level.
The Community facilitator will play a key role in mobilising and supporting communities to strengthen child protection at the local level. The Community Facilitator will ensure that children and families have access to accurate information, engage in prevention activities (in particular, Save the Children’s HAPI Famili programme) and receive adequate support and guidance to build and sustain safe and nurturing family environments.
The Community Facilitator will also act as a key liaising point to strengthen coordination between formal and informal child protection mechanisms and to ensure that children and their families receive timely and adequate support through safe and appropriate reporting and referrals to service providers.
You will make an impact by:
Community Engagement & Safe Families Programme
- Build strong relationships with children, parents, caregivers, community and faith leaders.
- Support and promote participation in the Safe Families Programme.
- Facilitate parenting sessions, children's activities, home visits, and awareness activities on child rights, positive parenting, gender equality, and protection.
- Ensure activities are inclusive, culturally appropriate, and accessible to all community members.
Child Protection & Referrals
- Identify and support children and families at risk.
- Facilitate safe and confidential referrals to relevant services and authorities.
- Work closely with government agencies, service providers, and community stakeholders to strengthen child protection systems.
Community Awareness & Accountability
- Share child protection information and key messages with communities.
- Support community feedback mechanisms and ensure concerns are addressed promptly.
- Promote access to available support services for children and families.
Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and confidential records.
- Support activity monitoring, reporting, and documentation of success stories and case studies.
Health, Safety & Child Safeguarding
- Comply with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Promote a child-safe environment and uphold Save the Children's Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.
- Report and respond appropriately to any child protection concerns.

This role requires:
- At least 2 years of experience working in community mobilisation, child protection, or case management.
- Familiarity with participatory approaches and community engagement strategies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in Bislama and English
- Experience working in rural or outer island contexts, preferably within Shefa, Penama and Sanma Province
