Position: Full-Time Chef (Curry & Tandoor)

Masti, an esteemed Indian restaurant nestled in the heart of Fitzroy, is seeking an experienced and qualified Full-Time Chef to join our kitchen team.

Specialising in authentic North Indian cuisine, we take pride in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of authentic North Indian dishes, with a focus on curry and tandoori specialties
  • Apply strong knowledge of North Indian cuisine to deliver consistent flavour and presentation
  • Assist in developing menus including mains, specials, sharing dishes, and desserts
  • Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods while maintaining quality standards
  • Ensure smooth kitchen operations during service
  • Work independently and take responsibility for assigned kitchen sections

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with North Indian cuisine, particularly curry and tandoor cooking techniques (or similar role)
  • Trade Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery ,Diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
  • Strong skills in food preparation, consistency, and presentation
  • Ability to work independently and support junior kitchen staff when required
  • Experience with stock control, ordering, and food safety practices is highly regarded
