About the Role
An established Best Awarded Indian restaurant located in Orange, NSW is seeking an experienced and professional Waiter / Food and Beverage Attendant to join its front-of-house team on a full-time basis.

We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional who takes pride in providing excellent customer service and is comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment.

The successful applicant will work closely with restaurant management, kitchen staff and other front-of-house employees to provide customers with a high standard of dining service.

Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for duties including:

  • Greeting customers and escorting them to tables.
  • Presenting menus and providing information and recommendations regarding food and beverage selections.
  • Taking customer orders accurately and communicating orders to kitchen staff.
  • Serving meals, beverages and other menu items in a professional and timely manner.
  • Explaining menu items, ingredients and preparation methods to customers where required.
  • Assisting customers with dietary requirements, food allergies and menu enquiries.
  • Setting and arranging tables before service and maintaining appropriate table presentation throughout service.
  • Monitoring guests during their meals and attending promptly to additional requests.
  • Clearing tables, replacing used dishes and preparing tables for incoming customers.
  • Processing customer accounts and payments when required.
  • Handling customer enquiries and assisting in resolving service-related concerns.
  • Coordinating with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service during busy periods.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety in dining and service areas.
  • Assisting with opening and closing procedures.
  • Supporting the Restaurant Manager and senior staff in maintaining restaurant service standards.
  • Complying with workplace health and safety, food safety and responsible service requirements.
  • Performing other reasonable duties associated with the position of a professional restaurant waiter.

Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must have:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience as a Waiter / Food and Beverage Attendant, preferably within a busy restaurant environment.
  • A minimum AQF Certificate IV or Diploma in Hospitality, Hospitality Management or a closely related hospitality qualification, or an equivalent recognised overseas qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in table service and customer-facing restaurant operations.
  • Good knowledge of food service procedures and restaurant service standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a busy front-of-house team.
  • Ability to remain organised and professional during peak service periods.
  • Good attention to detail and a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Availability to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
  • Previous experience working with Indian cuisine, including familiarity with Indian dishes, ingredients and dietary requirements, will be highly regarded but is not essential.
