Front of House / Waitstaff – Part Time
ISH Restaurant | Fitzroy, Melbourne

Join the team at ISH, an established modern Indian restaurant on Melbourne’s iconic Gertrude Street in Fitzroy.

We’re looking for an experienced, personable and reliable Front of House team member who genuinely enjoys hospitality and knows how to make guests feel looked after.

This is a part-time position with a minimum commitment of 2 days per week, with additional shifts available for the right person.

About the role

You’ll be part of a small, experienced team delivering polished but relaxed restaurant service. We want someone who can confidently manage a section, communicate with guests, understand the flow of service and contribute positively to the overall dining experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and providing attentive service to your section
• Taking food and beverage orders accurately
• Guiding guests through our menu and making recommendations
• Serving wine, cocktails and other beverages
• Communicating effectively with the kitchen and bar
• Setting, clearing and resetting tables
• Processing bills and payments
• Maintaining high presentation and cleanliness standards
• Assisting with opening and closing duties
• Creating a warm and memorable experience for every guest

About you

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in a busy restaurant or quality hospitality venue
• Confidence managing your own section
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• A friendly, professional and engaging personality
• Good food and beverage knowledge
• An interest in wine and cocktails
• Strong attention to detail
• Reliability and punctuality
• Ability to work calmly during busy services
• A current Victorian RSA
• Availability for at least 2 shifts per week
• Evening and weekend availability
