Job Description


AVANI Melbourne Central Residences
is excited to expand our housekeeping department, with this dual role now available on a casual basis. If you’re energetic, have a keen eye for detail, and thrive in a team-oriented environment, we’d love to have you on board!

This dual role combines Guest Room Cleaning with Common Area Cleaning & Guest Support responsibilities. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring an exceptional guest experience by maintaining our high standards of cleanliness, while also assisting guests as needed.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Guest Room Cleaning

  • Thoroughly clean guest rooms, including making beds, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms to ensure a pristine environment.
  • Complete daily cleaning tasks efficiently within the allocated hours.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet cleaning targets and operational goals.

Common Area Cleaning & Guest Support

  • Clean and maintain all shared guest areas to the highest standards, ensuring spaces remain hygienic and visually appealing.
  • Assist with after-hours guest enquiries, while addressing issues promptly.
  • Operate specialised cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively (with full training provided).
  • Build positive, professional relationships with guests, colleagues, and contractors.

Shift Details (subject to change):

  • Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
  • Must be available to work weekends
  • Shifts starting between 8:00 am and 9.00am

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):

Monday - Friday: $32.31 per hour

Saturday: $38.78 per hour

Sunday: $45.24 per hour


Qualifications


Successful candidates will have:

  • Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles will be highly regarded.
  • Good physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to perform repetitive tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Basic understanding of safe handling and usage of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training will be provided).
  • Professional and clear communication skills to interact with guests, team members, and contractors.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
  • A positive and proactive attitude with a strong work ethic.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
