The Opportunity: We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Metal Machinist to join our team in our state-of-the-art workshop. This is a hands-on role offering diverse projects, a safety-first environment, and the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s best trades people.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others by following WHS instructions, site-specific policies, and safety procedures
  • Promptly report incidents and safety hazards—whether resolved or not—to your supervisor or manager
  • Integrate health, safety, environmental, and quality standards into all planning and work execution
  • Participate in required safety training sessions and meetings

Key Responsibilities:

Machinist Duties

  • Operate CNC lathes, vertical borers, and machining centres to mill, cut, grind, bore, and drill metal stock and castings to tight tolerances.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce accurate components.
  • Program and set up machines using "One CNC" software and ensure efficiency in production times.
  • Inspect and measure components during production to meet quality requirements.
  • Identify and report non-conforming products, malfunctions, or damaged equipment.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and work area to ensure safety and cleanliness.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of materials, tooling grades, cutting speeds, and feeds.
  • Mark products with Job Numbers and ensure proper movement to the next workflow stage.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Year 10 education
  • Trade certificate in a relevant mechanical or engineering field
  • Proficient in CNC programming and operation (manual and automated)
  • Familiarity with planning systems, machine performance metrics, and production workflows
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to safe work practices and quality control standards
