About the opportunity

Join Bolton Clarke’s Strategy & Innovation Team and work directly with executive leaders to shape the future of aged care. This high-impact role combines strategy, innovation, commercial thinking and execution - giving you the opportunity to solve complex challenges, drive growth initiatives and deliver meaningful outcomes that improve the lives of Australians.

Key activities

  • Support development of the Group strategy agenda through strategic analysis, portfolio benchmarking, market scans, strategic deep dives, initiative prioritisation, and executive-level recommendations.
  • Shape and advance Innovation Hub opportunities by identifying priority problems, assessing emerging technologies, partnerships, start-ups / scale-ups and new business models, and developing clear opportunity theses and pathways to test, partner or scale.
  • Mobilise strategic and innovation initiatives, including work planning, stakeholder engagement, cross-functional squad coordination, issue resolution, decision support and benefits tracking.
  • Design and maintain targeted strategy reporting and portfolio monitoring to track progress against Group priorities, identify risks and dependencies, and support timely executive decision-making.
  • Build Strategy and Innovation team capability by coaching junior team members, strengthening tools and ways of working, and bringing relevant external insights, methods and benchmarks into the organisation.

About you

You are a highly structured, commercially minded and entrepreneurial individual who can move confidently between strategy development, analytical deep dives, innovation opportunity shaping, stakeholder engagement, executive storytelling and practical delivery support.

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • Strong structured problem-solving capability, with the ability to break down ambiguous problems, apply analytical rigour and develop clear, evidence-based recommendations.
  • Demonstrated strategy experience, including market analysis, portfolio benchmarking, strategic planning and initiative prioritisation.
  • High comfort with ambiguity, with the ability to move from problem framing to evidence, options, recommendations and action.
  • Strong financial and commercial analysis capability, including business case development, investment assessment, benefits sizing and sensitivity analysis.
  • Entrepreneurial and innovation mindset, with experience identifying and assessing emerging technologies, partnerships, start-ups / scale-ups or new business model opportunities.
  • Effective executive communication skills, including the ability to create compelling written, visual and verbal narratives for senior stakeholders.
  • Proven stakeholder and project leadership, with experience leading workstreams, facilitating workshops, influencing without authority and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Strong ownership and delivery discipline, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain high-quality outputs and drive work toward measurable outcomes.
  • Commitment to inclusive leadership and capability building, including coaching junior team members and contributing to team tools, frameworks and ways of working.
  • Experience in strategy consulting, in-house strategy, corporate development, innovation or transformation is highly regarded; exposure to health, aged care, human services, not-for profit or regulated sectors would be advantageous.
