Full job description
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior Claims Advocate with leadership capabilities and technical expertise focused on faith and education clients. This role involves providing strategic coverage and claims advice, managing complex claims, and supporting clients with tailored solutions to mitigate future risks. The successful candidate will also provide technical leadership, mentor team members, and collaborate across functions to ensure efficient claims handling and superior client service.
This role is available in either our Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Perth office. This is a hybrid role which offers the opportunity to work three days in the office and two days at home.
We will count on you to:
- Provide expert advice to faith and education clients on claims with no major coverage issues, assisting them in claims preparation and strategy to optimise outcomes.
- Identify and evaluate appropriate insurance policies and coverages related to complex and multifaceted claims.
- Manage and facilitate the claims process for complex and multifaceted claims, ensuring timely progress from notification through to closure while maintaining the highest standards of service and accuracy.
- Proactively monitor insurer responses and engage with insurers and their professional advisers on complex coverage and claims issues to support a thorough and efficient claims review process for clients.
- Draft clear, detailed, and professional communication documents for clients, including correspondence letters and claims calculations.
- Analyse claims-related data such as loss statistics, emerging trends, and cost reduction opportunities. Leverage this data to develop strategic action plans aimed at effectively managing the client’s total cost of risk in complex scenarios.
- Collaborate closely with Client Executives (CEs), Claims Advocacy, and Claims Operations colleagues to support the team in managing complex claims and ensuring a seamless process.
- Provide mentorship and training to team members and colleagues, sharing technical expertise and best practices.
- Serve as a technical leader within the faith and education claims advocacy team by sharing deep knowledge, promoting best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
What you need to have:
- Experience in claims advisory with a focus on faith and education clients or similar sectors.
- A strong understanding of insurance policies, claims processes, and coverage analysis.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide colleagues.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to analyse data and provide actionable insights to manage risk and costs.
- Collaborative mindset with experience working across multiple teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under supervision while progressing toward greater independence.
