Waitstaff & Bartenders for Upmarket Italian Restaurant

**Position Overview:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced waiter/waitress/ Bartenders to join our team at our upmarket Italian restaurant - Bar Infinita in Gordon. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing exceptional customer service, a deep understanding of Italian cuisine and wines, and the ability to create memorable dining experiences for our guests.

**Responsibilities:**

1. **Customer Service Excellence:**

- Greet guests warmly and provide them with menus showcasing our extensive selection of authentic Italian dishes and fine wines.

- Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are noted.

- Offer recommendations and answer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods, as well as Italian wines and their perfect pairings.

- Ensure timely delivery of food and beverages to tables.

- Anticipate guests' needs and respond promptly to any requests or concerns.

- Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and courteously, seeking resolution promptly.

2. **Food and Beverage Knowledge:**

- Possess a comprehensive understanding or willingness to learn the menu, including ingredients, cooking methods, and flavor profiles, as well as our extensive selection of Italian wines, including Chianti, Barolo, and Amarone.

- Stay updated on seasonal specials, promotions, and wine selections, providing guests with informed suggestions to enhance their dining experience.

- Assist guests in selecting wines or other beverages to complement their meals, offering insights into the characteristics and nuances of each wine.

- Ensure accuracy in processing orders and communicating any modifications or substitutions to the kitchen staff.

3. **Table Maintenance and Cleanliness:**

- Set up tables with appropriate silverware, glassware, and tableware, creating an inviting atmosphere for our guests to enjoy their dining experience.

- Monitor dining areas for cleanliness and ensure tables are promptly cleared and reset, maintaining an impeccable standard of hygiene and presentation.

- Maintain cleanliness and organization in server stations, bar areas, and dining rooms, contributing to the overall ambiance of the restaurant.

- Assist with general cleaning tasks as needed to uphold restaurant standards.

4. **Team Collaboration:**

- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth service operations, coordinating seamlessly to deliver exceptional service.

- Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate guest seating, order timing, and special requests, fostering a cohesive and efficient team environment.

- Support fellow team members during busy periods or when assistance is required, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute to the team's success.

5. **Upselling and Revenue Generation:**

- Proactively suggest additional items such as appetisers, desserts, or specialty cocktails to enhance the dining experience and increase revenue.

- Promote our selection of Italian wines, highlighting their unique characteristics and perfect pairings with our authentic dishes, to elevate guests' dining experience.

- Handle payments accurately and efficiently, including processing credit card transactions and tendering change, ensuring a seamless conclusion to our guests' dining experience.

**Qualifications:**

- Previous experience waitering in an similar environment

- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.

- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
