Now Hiring: Pan & Deep Fry Cook

Location: Kingsford, NSW
Employment Type: Casual (Minimum 20+ hours per week)

Bring flavour and heat to the kitchen at Niji Sushi Bar Kingsford, home to a vibrant sushi train and modern Japanese à la carte dining.

We’re looking for a Pan & Deep Fry Cook to join our hot kitchen team.

About the Role

As a Pan & Deep Fry Cook, you’ll prepare hot dishes using both pan and deep-fry techniques. From karaage and tempura to donburi , pan fried and charcoal grilled dishes, you’ll deliver consistency in taste, presentation, and speed in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook hot dishes using pan and deep-fry methods
  • Set up and stock your section with required ingredients and tools
  • Control cooking times and oil temperatures for quality and safety
  • Plate dishes with attention to presentation and portion size
  • Monitor ingredient freshness and assist with kitchen prep
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
  • Follow food hygiene and safety protocols

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in a similar kitchen role
  • Confident using pans, fryers, and gas burners
  • Knowledge of Japanese-style hot dishes (advantage)
  • Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team under pressure
  • Intermediate English communication skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
