Full job description

We’re looking for an experienced All Rounder / Sushi Maker / Cook to join our team at Sushi Cuckoo in Rockingham, bringing fresh and quality Japanese cuisine to the Rockingham area and surrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cooking (incl. deep frying, pan/stir frying) a range of Japanese meals (rice bowl, bento, curry, yakisoba, udon, ramen etc.) with a focus on quality and consistent preparation and presentation.
  • Preparing and rolling sushi and making bubble tea.
  • Using all kitchen equipment and utensils safely, requiring strong knife skills and ability to handle multiple orders at once.
  • General cleaning (washing dishes, sanitising) and pantry duties to keep restaurant neat and operating efficiently.
  • Cooperating with other staff to prioritise the customer experience.

Previous / similar experience and an interest in Japanese cuisine is ideal.

Employment Type and Working hours are negotiable – Full Time, Part Time or Casual and hours between 10am to 9pm, Wednesday to Monday (closed Tuesday & public holiday).

Pay and Conditions - as per the Restaurant Industry Award 2020 and experience level.

Location: Shop 2, 16 Railway Terrace in Rockingham.
