About KOMEYUI

KOMEYUI Brisbane is a premium Japanese restaurant in Spring Hill, offering omakase and seasonal Japanese cuisine grounded in precision, consistency and thoughtful hospitality.

We are seeking cooks who can take responsibility for an assigned section and contribute to a calm, organised and professional kitchen.

The Opportunity

We are hiring two **Cooks** for part-time positions.

This position suits a cook who can prepare and operate an assigned section with day-to-day independence. You will work under the direction of the Sous Chef and Head Chef, maintaining KOMEYUI's recipe, presentation, hygiene and food-safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and complete mise en place for lunch and dinner services.

- Cook and plate consistently according to issued recipes and standards.

- Maintain food safety, hygiene, allergen and cleaning requirements.

- Monitor stock levels and rotation within the assigned section.

- Communicate shortages and ordering requirements to the Sous Chef or Head Chef.

- Support other sections when directed and contribute to smooth service coordination.

- Maintain respectful communication with BOH and FOH colleagues.

Supplier ordering, purchasing approval and formal staff supervision are not part of this role. These matters are reported to the Sous Chef or Head Chef.

What We Are Looking For

- Current Australian work rights that allow you to perform the required hours.

- Interest in Japanese cuisine and a willingness to learn KOMEYUI's standards.

A relevant commercial cookery qualification, recognised training or equivalent practical skills is desirable and will be verified as part of the classification and offer process. Japanese-kitchen experience is welcomed but not essential where strong foundational cooking skills can be demonstrated.

Roster

You will generally be rostered for approximately four days per week across lunch, dinner and split shifts. We aim to provide a consistent roster wherever possible; however, shifts may vary to accommodate planned leave and operational requirements.

KOMEYUI Brisbane trades Monday to Saturday and is closed on Sunday.
