A great opportunity exists for a dynamic and motivated Japanese Speaking Tour Coordinator to join H.I.S. Australia Pty Ltd on a Full-time basis. H.I.S. As a Tour Coordinator you will processes group tour enquiries and bookings for travel arrangements including airline tickets, coach bookings, accommodation, day tours, car-hire, transfers and travel insurance; working over the telephone and on-line.

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Prepare quotes and itineraries for group travel
  • Answer queries from agents in Japan and offer suggestions on tours, travel routes, accommodation and local customs
  • Provide literature and information on local tours and places of interest
  • Confirm travel and accommodation reservations and inform clients of bus, plane, ship and train connections; as well as notifying clients of travel dates, baggage limits, medical and visa requirements
  • Provide information on tourist attractions or tours available, and procedures regarding lost or stolen documents; as well as climates and customs, relevant government regulations and use of credit cards or traveller's cheques;
  • Maintain good supplier relations and negotiate prices with Australian providers;

To be considered for the position, the candidate must have the following:

  • Fluency in the Japanese language;
  • A deep understanding of Japanese customs and business etiquette;
  • Minimum 12 months in inbound travel environment, preferably in a groups tour coordinator capacity
  • Previous exposure to planning for quoting for B2B clients, preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills, written & verbal, with good phone manner.
  • Sound sense of business, with an interest in customer service delivery
  • Strong administration/organisational skills with familiarity of Microsoft Suite
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Ability to effective work as part of a team
  • Australia Permanent Residency or Citizenship
