Hey you!

We're looking for a Café Assistant to join the team at the Blue Oval Café, located onsite at Ford and operated by genU.

This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operation of the café while working alongside employees with disability in a supported employment environment.

We're looking for someone who is reliable, friendly, enjoys working with people, and is happy to pitch in wherever needed.

You'll be part of a supportive team delivering a welcoming café experience while helping employees with varying abilities build skills, confidence and independence in the workplace.

What you'll do

• Support and encourage employees with varying abilities to be active and valued members of the café team.
• Provide friendly customer service to Ford employees, visitors and other customers.
• Assist with food and beverage preparation, serving customers and general café operations.
• Operate the register and EFTPOS facilities.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace safety standards.
• Help keep the café clean, organised and welcoming.
• Respond to customer enquiries in a professional and helpful manner.
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

What you'll bring

• Experience in hospitality, retail, customer service or a similar role.
• Basic food preparation and coffee-making skills (or a willingness to learn).
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices.
• A positive attitude and willingness to follow instructions.
• The ability to stay organised and work efficiently during busy periods.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with people from a range of backgrounds and abilities.
• Reliability and a team-first approach.

(You'll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate—but don't worry, we'll help guide you through the process.)
