Apprentice Printing Industry Sydney

A career opportunity exists for a motivated self-starter to join the long serving team at Dragon Printing and undertake a Label printing apprenticeship. Your apprenticeship will encompasses not only traditional label printing (both printed and blank labels) but digital, letterpress, screen and flexo label printing, along with specialty finishing and embellishment.

The position will suit the ‘mechanically minded’ individual – you will be very ‘hands on’, and display a strong mechanical aptitude. Applications welcomed from candidates with little or no experience in the Printing industry.

Job Requirements

  • Genuine interest in operating specialised label printing equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude, easy going nature, keen to learn
  • Sharp eye for detail
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical skills and reasoning
  • Ability to pass colour-blindness test
  • Ability to follow company instructions and procedures
  • Do routine work that is similar each day

Employer Expectations

  • Completed Year 10 School Certificate or Year 12
  • Punctual and reliable with a good work ethic
  • Flexible – shift work or overtime may be required
  • Perform routine daily work with a high degree of integrity
  • Possess good problem solving skills – identify problems and troubleshoot solutions
  • Ability to work both as part of the “Team” and independently where required.
  • Be deadline driven to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Progress through trade qualification competencies, learn new equipment and technical skills accordingly
  • Open minded attitude and keen willingness to learn
  • Attendance and participation at all training sessions, and timely submission of assignments for assessment as part of a Certificate 3 Printing and Graphic Arts (Print) qualification.
