As a CBRE Data Center Apprentice, you will assist the team in performing preventive maintenance and
corrective repairs within a Data Center operation. This role is designed to provide you with hands-on
experience and foundational knowledge in data center operations.
What You’ll Do:
Assist in daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Electrical Engineering systems and technical equipment
Support the team in ensuring the site's environmental conditions provide a safe work environment
Observe and assist with emergency repairs in response to Building Management System alarms
Help with taking meter readings from UPS, PDU’s, and u li es during building walkthroughs
Participate in the complete on of all required training to ensure successful completion of job-related responsibilities
Follow established procedures in the performance of repetitive tasks or job activities
Assist in maintaining comprehensive maintenance records and documentation
Support the team in ensuring subcontractor performance meets all requirements per the Master Service
Agreement
Develop a basic understanding of Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting
Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized work environment
What You’ll Need:
Completed Year 10/Year 12 & currently enrolled in a 3rd or 4th year college program or technical school TAFE/RMIT/Polytechnique or relevant
Australian Citizen - comfortable with NV1 vetting or detailed Background Check process
Currently completing Certificate III Electrotechnology Electrical /Air conditioning & Refrigeration or Electrical
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing
stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work well within a team
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset and a willingness to learn
Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups
Ability to follow safety processes and requirements to ensure a safe work environment
Willingness to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays
Ability to develop skills to perform basic activities in the role and grow within the organization
