This multi-national group operates facilities throughout Australia, Hong Kong, and mainland China. Pallion designs, manufactures, and distributes precious metal products and related services. Pallion entities offer the following services: Bullion; Refining and Minting; Casting and Jewellery; Fabricated Metals; Findings and Vaulting.

Working as part of the Laboratory team, the main purpose of this role is to support the manufacturing team by providing analytical testing services of raw materials and metals.

You will be responsible for:

  • All aspects of fire assay processes including weighing, de-slagging, cupellation and prilling
  • Carrying out routine analysis and testing
  • Adhere to all quality and safety standards
  • Record keeping and reporting of analysis results
  • Regular stocktakes and sample management
  • Participate in the preparation of samples for Fire Assay, XRF, ICP-OES, and Spark-OES analyses
  • Comply with all safe operating procedures
  • Actively contribute to individual learning and development

The ideal candidate is passionate, self-motivated, and able to adapt quickly in a world class business.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in Applied Chemistry, preferably majoring in Analytical Chemistry or related discipline.
  • An understanding of Classical and Instrumental Analysis
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and a strong work ethic
  • Based in Marrickville, Sydney.
