Summary

Our client Cielo Construction Pty Ltd is seeking to add a Building Associate to support the delivery of luxury residential and development projects across Queensland. Specialising in construction, architecture, and sustainable development, the company is recognised for delivering structurally sound and visually impressive spaces. The role will assist with coordinating construction activities, supervising site operations, interpreting plans, and supporting project delivery standards across multiple building projects.

The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with coordinating daily construction site activities and project schedules.
  • Interpret building plans, specifications, regulations, and construction documentation.
  • Monitor subcontractor works to ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Inspect building materials and workmanship for quality and safety compliance.
  • Coordinate labour, equipment, and construction material requirements across projects.
  • Assist Project Managers with project planning and site organisation tasks.
  • Prepare and update project documentation, reports, and construction records.
  • Support cost estimation activities and monitor project expenditure requirements.
  • Review site progress against project deadlines and construction milestones.
  • Liaise with architects, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders professionally.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with relevant Australian building regulations.
  • Assist with resolving on-site construction issues and operational challenges.
  • Maintain workplace health and safety standards across active construction sites.
  • Coordinate works programs to support efficient project delivery outcomes.

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:

  • Relevant AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma qualification in building, construction, architecture, or related discipline preferred, although at least three years of relevant industry experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating construction site activities within residential or commercial building environments across multiple project stages.
  • Strong ability interpreting architectural drawings, engineering plans, and Australian building regulations with close attention to detail.
  • Proven organisational skills managing subcontractors, materials, timelines, and construction documentation within fast-paced project environments.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with architects, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal project management teams daily.
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety obligations within active Australian construction site environments and operations.
  • Experience assisting with project scheduling, cost estimation, compliance inspections, and construction progress reporting responsibilities is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting Project Managers across luxury residential and development construction projects successfully.
