Role overview

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Junior ServiceNow Developer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Australia. Our client is a modern technology company offering enterprise IT solutions to improve employee workflows, infrastructure health, and enhanced customer services.



The Junior ServiceNow Developer will support the ServiceNow Architect and Technical Consultant in designing, developing, and maintaining core components of the ServiceNow platform. The role involves hands-on development, configuration, and scripting across key modules such as ITSM, Service Catalog, and CMDB, to build technical proficiency in the ServiceNow ecosystem. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates eager to deepen their coding and platform knowledge while contributing to enterprise-level ServiceNow implementations.

The candidate must work from the office in Sydney. The project's expected duration is 6 months

Requirements

  • Experience in software or ServiceNow development.
  • Basic understanding of ServiceNow architecture, scripting, and configuration tools.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and REST API integrations.
  • Understanding of ITSM concepts (Incident, Change, Request Management).
  • Strong interest in platform automation, workflow design, and data modeling.
  • Ability to work closely with senior developers and architects in a collaborative setting.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

  • Completion of ServiceNow training or Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
  • Exposure to Flow Designer, Integration Hub, or Now Assist capabilities.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Passion for building enterprise-grade workflows and automation on modern SaaS platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in ServiceNow development tasks, including form design, scripting, UI policy configuration, and automation workflows.
  • Support the ServiceNow Architect and Technical Consultant in solution design, module development, and testing.
  • Develop and configure catalog items, flows, and service request workflows.
  • Create client scripts, business rules, UI actions, and scheduled
  • in accordance with technical design specifications.
  • Participate in migration activities, code reviews, and testing cycles.
  • Support CMDB updates, data imports, and relationship management using discovery or manual methods.
  • Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and resolve platform issues.
  • Participate in Agile sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain development documentation and contribute to knowledge base updates.
  • Continuously learn and apply new ServiceNow features and development best practices.
