BARROW is currently seeking a qualified Chef to join the dynamic kitchen team.

About the Role:

Our restaurant is looking for a qualified chef that can manage a busy kitchen which serves food for UP TO 150 SEATS and of course our amazing functions.

Showcasing a proven track record of leading by example, and a passion to deliver quality food consistently, the right Chef will:

  • Plan menus, estimate food and labour costs and order food supplies
  • Deliver high quality dishes, consistently well, in a fast-paced, busy environment.
  • Work fast, clean and able to motivate the team through leading by example
  • Discuss any food preparation issues with managers and other staff
  • Demonstrate techniques and advice on cooking procedures
  • Meet all health and hygiene requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain food safety standards and understanding of HACCP.
  • Excellent technical knowledge with experience in a variety of cooking techniques and styles.
  • Select and train staff if needed
  • Freeze and preserve foods accordingly

About you:

You must possess the following skills:

  • Equivalent of Australian certificate III or higher in commercial cookery plus 2 year work experience in relevant roles.
  • Working and thriving under time pressure
  • Pride in your food presentation
  • Excellent food hygiene and safety practices
  • High Personal grooming standards
  • Can do attitude with a passion for the Hospitality industry
  • Amazing time management skills and work ethic
  • Must have a LOVE for food and a great attitude
  • Friendly and outgoing personality (Essential)
