About the role
As a Patient Transport Driver, you'll provide safe, reliable and compassionate non-clinical transport for patients accessing healthcare across Mount Isa and the North West Hospital and Health Service. Working with the Chronic Disease and Community Health teams, you'll help patients attend appointments, transition home following discharge and stay connected with essential health services.
Provide safe and reliable transport for patients attending hospital, health service and community appointments, including airport transfers.
Support patients who may have mobility or other assistance needs, using appropriate manual handling and patient safety practices.
Work closely with the Chronic Disease and Community Health teams, contributing to continuity of care and helping reduce barriers to accessing healthcare.
Maintain a professional, respectful and culturally safe approach while working with patients, families, health professionals and the wider community.

Requirements
C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
Although not mandatory, it is preferred that the driver has a reasonable knowledge of the Mount Isa area.
Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
Blue Card: Potential applicants are advised that the Working with Children Check Act 2000 requires a Blue Card is obtained prior to appointment to this position.
This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
A period of probation may apply.
