Introduction:
St. Basil’s Homes NSW & ACT is an activity of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia and was established specifically to provide care and lifestyle options to ageing Australians.

Our services include Residential Aged Care, Home and Community Services and Retirement Villages.

Our facilities are based at Kogarah, Lakemba, Miranda, and Randwick.

About the Role:
The Aged Care Worker role is central to our person-centred approach promise which ensures we aim to enhance the psychological, spiritual, social, emotional, and physical well-being of our residents.

Working collaboratively with our nursing team, the role is responsible for providing provide high-quality personal care to our clients based on their individual needs. This includes assisting them with daily life tasks, personal care and mobility. The needs and wishes of individual residents are met as a priority, and we deliver services and supports that ensure the health and wellbeing of our residents.

Our employees are employed under the St Basil's NSW/ACT Enterprise Agreement 2024. Our Aged Care Workers are employed under this EA as Personal Care Level 1 to 3 with an hourly rate between $30.55 to $32.14.

Skills and Experiences:
Essential Requirements of the Role:
  • Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or in Aged Care.
  • Experience working in residential aged care (preferred).
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide quality care and exceptional service.
  • Passion for enhancing the lives of older people and for working in aged care.
  • An understanding of the needs of people living with dementia.
  • Respectful approach that supports people based on their choices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as the confidence to work independently.
