Position Information
Dawson Public School, located in Western Sydney, serves a diverse community, with 280 K-6 students, 3 multi-categorical (MC) support classes, and 51 preschool students totalling 331 students. Our schools cultural diversity includes 52% of our students from non-English speaking backgrounds, 33% requiring EAL/D (English as an Additional Language or Dialect) support, and 18% identifying as Aboriginal.

Selection Criteria
-
Approval to teach English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD), or currently undertaking or enroled in EALD qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
- Proven ability to use the NSW EALD Learning Progressions to support student learning and build teacher capacity.
- Demonstrate understanding of the demands of working with diverse cultural backgrounds and the unique challenges faced by EALD learners.
- Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to collaborate with students, staff, and the wider community
