Description & Requirements

Being in a business support role at Australia Post means helping our people deliver for every Australian. Just like our Posties, you’re still the people behind every parcel. Whatever your team or role, you’re helping grow our people, grow our business and making a lasting impact on the Australian community. You’ll find a culture of connection in our great people and the flexibility to balance work with life outside of it.

About the opportunity

Join Australia Post's myRecovery and Health team, where you'll play a critical role in making fair, timely and evidence-based decisions on workers' compensation claims. As a Claims Partner, you'll work at the forefront of eligibility and liability assessments, partnering with injured team members, operational leaders and external stakeholders to support positive recovery outcomes while ensuring legislative compliance. This is an excellent opportunity for a claims professional who enjoys analysing complex information, making sound decisions and influencing outcomes that balance the needs of both employees and the business.

You'll Also

  • Manage the end-to-end determination of workers' compensation claims, assessing eligibility, liability and entitlement.
  • Gather, evaluate and interpret medical, employment and factual evidence to make robust, sustainable claim decisions that can withstand review and scrutiny.
  • Act as the key point of contact for injured team members throughout the claim determination process, providing clear guidance and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Partner with Workplace Recovery, operational leaders, unions, legal representatives and healthcare providers to support liability decisions and facilitate successful recovery outcomes.
  • Identify risks, manage complex and sensitive claims matters, and contribute to continuous improvements that enhance claims quality, reduce disputes and strengthen decision-making consistency.

About you

You'll likely come from a workers' compensation, claims management, injury management, rehabilitation, insurance or self-insurance environment where you've managed complex claims and balanced the needs of multiple stakeholders. Experienced in navigating legislative frameworks and making evidence-based decisions, you're comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated setting where no two claims are the same. You enjoy partnering with operational leaders, healthcare providers, unions and employees to achieve positive outcomes, and you're motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on both people and business performance.

You’ll also have

  • Demonstrated experience managing a diverse portfolio of workers' compensation claims, including complex eligibility and liability assessments.
  • Proven ability to communicate and negotiate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, including employees, operational leaders, unions, healthcare providers and government bodies.
  • Experience making evidence-based decisions, analysing complex information and delivering sustainable claims and return-to-work outcomes.
  • A track record of identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance customer experiences and contribute positively to team performance within a large and complex organisation.

What else is in it for you?

  • Bring your whole self to work every day and be met by a welcoming bunch of people who respect and support you
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements, like the opportunity to work from home two days per week
  • Opportunities for growth and development through formal programs or mentorship
  • Exclusive team member discounts and offers for more cash in your pocket, evolving policies for flexible working, leave types and access to health and wellbeing resources

All walks, one route

It takes a lot of us to deliver for every Australian – and it’s important to us that our people behind the parcels reflect the people receiving them. We come from all walks. Different backgrounds, different ages, different genders, different sexualities and different abilities, but we all believe in the same purpose.

We welcome people all ages, genders and backgrounds – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people with disability, LGBTQIA+ communities, and refugees. We’re a Disability Confident Recruiter, committed to making our hiring process and workplace inclusive and barrier-free. We’re also working hard to remove bias and build a gender-equitable experience for everyone who joins us. If you’ve got questions about accessibility, reach out to our Diversity & Inclusion team at inclusivecareers@auspost.com.au or on 03 8737 9415.
