Full job description
Are you ready to take the next step in your career as a trusted adviser to investors, boards and CEOs leading Australia and Asia’s most dynamic businesses? Do you want to shape the future of global organisations while enjoying the freedom to chart your career path? We’d be delighted to hear from you.
Who You'll Work With
You will join ghSMART’s global team of leadership advisers, working as part of the Australia office to partner with high-ambition clients on their key talent priorities, exclusively at the top-of-the-house. As the global gold standard in leadership advisory, you will partner with some of the world’s most influential executives– bringing rigorous, data-driven insights and acting as their trusted counsellor in the leadership moments that matter.
This is a fully remote role based in Australia, with travel to client sites as required
The Value You Bring to Our Firm
As a Senior Principal at ghSMART you will:
- Partner with corporate and private equity clients to assess, develop, and coach investors, CEOs, and c-suite executives across functions, geographies, and portfolio companies.
- Lead engagements at the intersection of strategy, leadership, and complex influencing, bringing both analytical insight and interpersonal agility.
- Elevate the quality of leadership, through powerful, targeted insights that move the needle on executive capability, team effectiveness, and CEO succession.
- Build and sustain trusted, long-term relationships with executive clients, becoming one of the first people they call to wrestle with their leadership growth and professional challenges.
- Work with kind and brilliant colleagues in a team-first meritocracy, where apprenticeship thrives and collegiality is ever-present.
- Engage with leading global IP, including three bestselling books and over 50 articles in esteemed journals (e.g., HBR, Wharton).
- Join a firm who has supported over 2,000 CEOs and boards, including Global2000 companies, leading PE investors and their portfolio companies, and mission-driven non-profits.
Hear from our clients directly regarding the impact of our work.
What You Can Expect at ghSMART. At ghSMART, we are committed to your development as an adviser, rooted in a culture of generosity and gratitude. As a Senior Principal, you will experience:
- Personalised Development: Ongoing coaching and mentoring from experienced colleagues to help you learn and achieve your career goals.
- Freedom to shape your career with purpose: Life is short, and a career at ghSMART empowers you with the flexibility to truly thrive. With the support of your colleagues, you’ll have the freedom to make choices that shape a career aligned with your aspirations and lifestyle, while earning top-tier rewards. Take control, keep growing, and become the best version of yourself — both at work and at home.
- World Class Capabilities: Work with a global team of diverse, extraordinary people who are dedicated to delivering exceptional results for clients.
- Meaningful impact, every day. We believe leadership is the greatest force for good. At ghSMART, you’ll experience both the challenge and the privilege of becoming a trusted adviser - often a confidant - to some of the world’s most influential leaders. Together, we tackle their number one challenge: hiring and developing talented, diverse teams that deliver exceptional value. Our work helps make leaders great - and great leaders make the world a better place.
- Career Autonomy: Have your voice and talents recognised. You’ll thrive in our “flat” organisation, where proactivity and ability are valued over bureaucracy and tenure. Every decision and action you take will be guided by our Values and Credo: “We exist to help leaders amplify their positive impact on the world.”
- Comprehensive Benefits: Top remuneration, flexible leave throughout the year, paid parental leave and private health insurance.
- Learn why our consultants love working here.
Your Qualifications and Skills
- MBA with relevant strategy consulting experience, or PhD / registered organisational psychologist (typically 7+ years of experience).
- Exceptional ability to build and sustain relationships with senior-level clients.
- Strong analytical capabilities to generate insights from complex data sets.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage multiple client projects.
- A strongtrack record of success in leadership advisory, management consulting, or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to executive audiences.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and a passion for how leadership can elevate the performance of organisations.
