Learning Support Teacher - Primary (Graduates Encouraged)
Part Time (0.6 FTE) Permanent to commence in Term 3, 2026 (can discuss full time options if preferred)
$92,000-$130,000 per annum (pro rata) depending on experience
This position is based at our White Rock Campus in the vibrant tropical city of Cairns.

The Learning Support Teacher will play a pivotal role in shaping inclusive, empowering educational experiences across our White Rock primary campus. About the role
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Assisting teachers to develop intervention strategies for students at risk, and effectively identifying areas of concern in Literacy and Numeracy
- Recognising diverse student needs – cultural, linguistic, religious, gender, language diversities and socio-economic differences – and treating each child with dignity and respect.
- Aiding teachers in effectively implementing Individual Education Programs for Tier 3 case management students.
- Providing regular reports of actions and assessments of outcomes.
- Overseeing the Practices and Processes for supporting students with disability through the completion of the NCCD (Nationally Consistent Collection of Data) on School Students with Disability
- Supporting teachers to capture evidence to support the application of NCCD model around determining level of adjustment and category of disability
- Collating and confirm NCCD data; report status to Primary Leadership.
- Liaising with and support parents and actively encourage parent involvement
- Encouraging students to be lifelong learners
About you

- Adaptable and flexible – adjusts teaching strategies and interventions to suit individual student needs and changing classroom environments.
You will also bring:
- A Bachelor of Education or appropriate tertiary/teaching qualification
- Post Graduate qualification in Special Education or equivalent, or equivalent industry experience
- Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
- HLTAID012 Certificate – Provide Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting - or willingness to obtain
- HLTAID009 Certificate – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) – or willingness to obtain
