What you’ll be doing:

The Virgin Australia airport and workplace facilities (hangars, offices, airports and training centres) are largely third-party owned properties – usually in airports – where Virgin lease space. Working as part of a small team, this role will be responsible for the planning and delivery of commercial strategies in relation to the property leases for the Virgin Australia Group.

The Leasing Specialist will be responsible for developing and negotiating real estate portfolio leasing strategies on behalf of Virgin, working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to deliver optimal commercial property results. This role requires a high level of autonomy and sound judgment to independently drive and manage commercial real estate leasing outcomes. As a niche position within Virgin, it demands sharp commercial acumen to effectively negotiate with challenging landlords and an understanding of property law and compliance.

You’ll be great in this role if you:

• Have a high level of influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Have demonstrated commercial acumen and experience in contract / lease administration.
• Come with a high level of written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels with key internal and external stakeholders.
• Can read and interpret property leases, along with drafting lease agreements and understand relevant legislation.
• Are proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Have strong financial, analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.
• Have a tertiary qualification in Law / Business / Property
• Understand the Australian aviation industry (desirable)
• Have knowledge of airport leasing processes (desirable)
• Have experience managing a commercial lease portfolio (desirable)
• Come with prior experience in a paralegal role (desirable)
