  • Perfect for school students seeking a casual job!

When: Weekday afternoons or evenings, occasional Saturdays.

Casual Library Shelvers play a crucial role in our library services by ensuring books and other resources are properly shelved and accessible to our customers.


Responsibilities:


  • Sort and shelve library resources correctly using the Dewey Decimal Classification System and alphabetical order.
  • Assist in maintaining a neat and welcoming library space.

Requirements:


  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Reliability and ability to follow instructions.
  • Capability to work independently.
  • Physical ability to perform required tasks as this role will require you to stand for periods of time, use trolleys and places items on library shelves.

Training:

  • On-the-job training provided.
  • Regular refresher training and performance reviews.

Eligibility:


  • Must be at least 15 years old.

Work Hours:


  • Approximately 1-2 shifts per week.
  • Shift duration: 1-2 hours.

Locations:


  • All City of Ryde Libraries (Top Ryde, West Ryde, Eastwood, North Ryde and Gladesville)

Salary:


  • Age-related casual hourly rates starting from $17.90 (includes 25% casual loading).
  • No paid sick leave or annual leave as this is a casual position.
