About the role
The Library Officer will work as part of a team and is responsible for delivering high quality day to day customer experience services, plans and programs, and use every customer interaction as an opportunity to build positive connections with the City of Parramatta.
In this role you will:
- Deliver exceptional customer service through a proactive, customer-focused approach, ensuring positive experiences for all library visitors.
- Provide information, research and reference support to help customers access library resources, services and programs.
- Support digital literacy and technology use, assisting customers with ICT services, mobile apps and emerging technologies.
- Facilitate engaging community programs, including early literacy activities for children and digital learning programs for adults. Maintain library operations and environments, including collection management, shelving, customer service areas, and promoting library services and programs.

About you
The successful candidate is someone who brings:
- Operational library and/or customer service experience, with a proven track record of achieving objectives.
- Experience in providing a range of library or targeted customer programs.
- Experience of service delivery and improvement, with excellent communication skills and the ability to actively listen to and understand client needs. Organised and self-motivated, a team player with a cooperative attitude and a mindset of inclusivity and support for colleagues.
To be considered for this role, you must meet the essential requirements in the Position Description, including:
Qualifications/Licenc es:
- Completion of an Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) accredited Course, OR eligible membership of ALIA and relevant experience Working with Children Check.
