Are you passionate about information management, digitalisation or collection maintenance? This is an exciting opportunity to join our team in a specialised library environment.
We are seeking to engage an APS5 Library Technician in a full time non-ongoing role until 30 June 2027, with the possibility of extension.
This position within the Library Services Team is located at our Sydney Registry, primarily based onsite with some flexibility to work from home.
Remuneration: The annual salary range for the position is APS 5 is: $88,834 - $96,829 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.
About the opportunity
The Library Technician supports the delivery of high-quality library and information services across the Tribunal’s national library. Working under general direction, the role undertakes defined operational activities and library projects, maintains physical and digital collections, contributes to library systems and process improvements, and helps members and staff access information effectively.
About you
The Tribunal’s Library Services is undertaking a major transition of its physical and digital collections. The successful applicant will help reorganise the Sydney collection, assist with relocating and rehousing materials from Brisbane, update the library management system, improve record quality, and ensure digital resources are appropriately stored and remain accessible.
This role has physical requirements, including moving and reshelving library resources.
To be successful you will have:
- Experience maintaining physical and digital collections, using library management systems, and undertaking collection maintenance activities.
- The ability to contribute to operational projects and service improvements, including identifying practical system and process enhancements
- A demonstrated capability using digital systems and technology platforms, including library management systems, SharePoint and Microsoft 365 applications
- The ability to exercise sound judgement, assess risks, balance competing priorities, and apply library expertise to determine appropriate solutions and outcomes.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Diploma or degree recognised for Associate or Library Technician membership of ALIA
