About the Role
Expression of Interest – Forensic Services
At BDO, our Forensic Services team in Perth forms part of our Advisory practice, delivering specialised forensic accounting and expert advisory services to clients across the Government, Private and Not-for-Profit sectors.
We support clients in addressing a broad range of complex and high-profile matters, including disputes, litigation, investigations and regulatory challenges, through services such as:

Forensic accounting and fraud investigations

Fraud detection and prevention

Litigation support and dispute-related engagements
-
Asset tracing
-
Support in regulatory matters and legal proceedings

Fraud risk framework reviews
-
AML/CTF Independent Reviews

Payroll compliance audits

Quantification of losses

Independent expert reports
About the opportunity
We are inviting Expressions of Interest from professionals interested in joining our Forensic Services team in Perth across multiple levels, from Analyst through to Director.
Whether you are earlier in your career and looking to deepen your exposure to forensic accounting and investigations, or you are a more senior practitioner ready to lead engagements, mentor teams and contribute to practice growth, we would love to hear from you.
Depending on your level, you may have the opportunity to:

Lead or support engagements across forensic accounting, investigations and dispute-related engagements
-
Oversee or assist in the collection, review and analysis of financial and non-financial information
-
Contribute to loss quantification assessments, litigation support, asset tracing and investigative assignments
-
Prepare and review high-quality reports and client deliverables
-
Perform detailed research and analysis to identify anomalies, red flags and potential misconduct
-
Support legal and regulatory proceedings through the preparation of financial analysis and expert materials
-
Work collaboratively with clients, legal advisers and internal stakeholders
-
Strengthen team capability through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing
-
Contribute to business development initiatives and the ongoing growth of the Forensic Services practice
About you
We are interested in hearing from candidates with experience in forensic accounting, or from adjoining backgrounds such as audit, corporate finance, insolvency, business services, investigations or advisory.
You will likely bring:
-
Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related discipline
-
CA or CPA qualification (or progress towards completion), where applicable
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-
High attention to detail and the ability to work through complex information
-
A high degree of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality when managing sensitive matters
-
The ability to build strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders
For more senior levels, we would also value:

Demonstrated experience leading forensic accounting engagements or dispute-related matters

Experience preparing and/or reviewing expert reports

Strong technical capability and the ability to guide others

Proven people leadership, mentoring and coaching skills
