About the Role

Are you a high-achieving university student looking for high-paying HSC Tutor roles, but you're sick of spending hours of your own unpaid time preparing lesson plans, writing worksheets, and revising syllabus material?

At Ascend Mentorship, we do things differently. We are expanding our team and looking for top-tier academic tutors to provide high-frequency, 1-on-1 performance coaching and accountability to Year 11 & 12 HSC students.

The biggest difference? Zero Lesson Prep. Our students already have traditional subject tutors and school resources. Your role is not to teach core syllabus content from scratch, but to act as an execution tutor—guiding them through our proven 1-on-1 exam strategy, time management protocols, and weekly study tracking.

• High-Impact Model: Instead of doing long, exhausting block hours once a week, you will meet your assigned students for highly focused, shorter sessions twice a week. This keeps them consistently accountable and leads to much better results.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct private, 1-on-1 online tutoring and strategy sessions twice a week with a dedicated roster of senior students.
• Implement Ascend’s structured frameworks covering exam-room strategy, study timetabling, and stress management.
• Monitor student compliance with their weekly study goals and maintain accurate progress logs within our internal database.
• Provide elite communication, acting as an inspiring role model to keep teenagers motivated through the high-pressure HSC cycle.

Skills & Experience Required

• Academic Excellence: Must have achieved a 95+ ATAR (or equivalent top-tier performance) and be currently enrolled in an Australian university.
• Strong Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently build rapid rapport, command authority, and engage effectively with teenagers.
• Organization: High attention to detail, punctuality, and reliability are strictly required.
• Past experience in private tutoring, peer coaching, or school leadership roles is highly regarded but not essential.

Pay: $40.00 per hour
